MAFT SAI

One day it came to my mind. There might be more people who would be interested in our style and not only the local people.

About the collaboration project with SOUNDWAY and FINDERS KEEPERS. The start of it was that Chris Menist and I were very close to bother owners of Miles Cleret* and Any Votel*. One day after we started Paradise Bangkok, it came to my mind. There might be more people who would be interested in our style and not only the local people. At the party the customers had good reaction to the sound and they had good vibes. So I tried contacting some other foreign labels. I sent the Molam and Luk thung. The quickest response I had been from FINDERS KEEPERS and SOUNDWAYS. They responded “It’s a sound we’ve never heard before, would you like to release it with us!?”Our first release was around 2010. We put effort to differentiate the concept with another label project since it was released at the same time. For example with SOUNDWAY we chose songs like Luk thung and Molam, which are closer to jazz and grassroots. We thought to mainly use the music which are the roots of Thai. There are some that include western rhythm, but it is less than covers. The concept FINDERS KEEPERS is psychedelic rock. Should I call it side sound. Or should I say, it’s Thai sound Luk thung underground. By the way, when you say Sound of Siam it has the image of major music in Thai.
